Sometimes when I am hungry for some soup, I go to the local Chinese place and get some Chicken Noodle Soup. They make some of the best chicken noodle soup and a big 32-ounce portion of it is only $2.75, which is very affordable and a good value. Too bad I can't make soup like that at home. The only thing that I did not like are the green onion bits, but I don't mind them too much. Chicken bits are tender, the noodles are great and the soup liquid is tasty.
4 or so days ago I visited 7-Eleven website and found out that they have new item in their stores: its 4 for $1.00 mini tacos. I had to try them out, and so I did:

Profile shot of mini taco. All of 4 mini tacos that I got were burnt, probably by sitting all day underneath the warming lamp. The 4 mini tacos that I got were the last ones on the display, and the motherfucker that works behind the counter was not too enthusiastic about his job; was textin' on the smartphone for like 7 seconds before he moved his Middle Eastern ass. I ate 1 and 3/4 of the mini tacos before I threw out the rest on the curb.
I was looking to get my hands on one of the current McDonald's promo items, the Triple Cheeseburger for $2.00, and I did, plus the free (with coupon) Cherry Berry Chiller, all for $2.18 total.
Small Cherry Berry Chiller
Cherry Berry Chiller tasted okay, but not as good as the Mango Smoothie from couple of posts before. If they used some sort of real fruit for the Mango Smoothie, then for Cherry Berry Chiller it was all synthetically/chemical mix. As I watched the McD's blender in action, I noted that the liquid mix and the ice, all fell down into the mixing pitcher all in one stream, and it took 5 or 6 seconds for the Chiller to be done, after the cashier girl pressed the buttons on the touchscreen display on the blender. The taste is enjoyable, but you can tell right away that no real fruits are present in this drink. But I did not complain and while I was sipping it in the air-conditioned subway train, I enjoyed this drink a bit. My rating is 3.9/5.0 and 4.0/5.0 for the value.

Overall I liked the Triple Cheeseburger with it's generous dose of beef that mixes nicely with the yellow cheese in your mouth. $2.00 price is not bad, but it does not qualifies for a great value price. There are also 2 small slices of pickles inside and a small squashed dollop of ketchup. The taste of 3 small beef patties is the most memorable part of the Triple Cheeseburger. I rate the Triple Cheeseburger at 4.1/5.0 and at 4.0/5.0 for the value rating.
The nearby Duane Reade store did not had much to choose from: only Monster Green and Red Bull, so I went across the street to CVS. Over there assortment was a bit wider, with addition of Rockstar Black and White and AMP energy drink in addition to Duane Reade's assortment. I chose AMP Boost Original (AMP Green) energy drink for purchase, because I knew that is was made by PepsiCo and I was curious to see how it tasted and if it was worth buying. The price was $1.99 + tax & deposit, which totaled to $2.22. The drink tasted like Sierra Mist citrus soda and the color was nuclear yellowish-green. This energy drink tasted more like soda with the added nutritional supplements, and I did not enjoyed it that much as an energy drink. For the taste-price ration, the price was just too high in my opinion. I rate it 3.2/5.0 and value rating (as an energy drink) is also 3.2/5.0.
Staples just started their Back To School sales this week, and they have a good price for the 3-star HP Photo Paper: $0.50 after rebate, with 4 packs per rebate. And the 8-pack of BIC Round Stick pens is also on sale for $0.01 when you make $5.00 or more purchase, with limit of 2 pen packs per purchase. So if you are looking to stock-up on cheap pens for the year and maybe some photo paper, then now is the time.
I also stocked-up on some energy drinks that I will review in the near future.
